Life can be overwhelming, and there are times when it can feel almost impossible to deal with the challenges it brings. Most people experience difficulties at some stage, which can often be lonely and overwhelming. One of the hardest things to do can be making that first step to reach out for support, and if you are now reading this, well done for coming this far.
Toxic relationships, childhood abuse, bullying, neglect, depression, anxiety, grief, loss, relationships, relationship break-ups, obsessive and intrusive thoughts, stress and trauma are all distressing, and many people struggle to overcome these harrowing experiences on their own.
Counselling aims to provide a non-judgmental, safe space where any issues or concerns can be discussed, whether past or present.
Counselling can help you come to terms with present and past experiences; although it can sometimes be challenging, the benefits can be life-changing.
Counselling is not about telling you what to do or giving advice; it's about providing you with the necessary tools to make informed choices and decisions that are right for you.
I am a fully qualified and insured Suffolk-based integrative counsellor registered with the BACP.
(British Association of Counselling and psychotherapy). I hold the following qualifications: BA (Hons) Degree in integrative counselling, a Diploma in Counselling level 3, and a certificate in Counselling skills level 2.
Having experienced the benefits of counselling, I want to use my lived experiences to help others. Life can be a bumpy road, but it doesn't mean we have to travel it alone.
Research suggests that the therapeutic relationship is key to successful therapy. Feeling that you can trust and share your inner thoughts and feelings with your therapist is extremely important. I hope our initial session together will help you decide if my approach and way of counselling are the right fit for you.
The initial free introductory consultation is 30 minutes, with no obligation to continue. This session provides an opportunity to discuss your issues and whether counselling is the right support for you.
My terms and conditions, costs and GDP will be discussed and arranged during our initial session. If you decide to have therapy with me, I will offer you a regular appointment on the same day and time for each session. The therapy session will be for 1 hour; they are usually weekly, although sometimes it can be agreed to be more or less frequent.
